Gratitude

The first cry
of a
newborn

Spring buds
unfurling
their rich
canopy

A soft breeze
carrying a
wisp
of lilac

The rapid flight
of a hummingbird’s
might.

From your
puppy’s
first kiss,
to a loyal
friend

A soft, warm
bed
and a fluffy
place to
lay my
head

A tentative
first kiss,
so anticipated
and feared.

A tender
embrace of
a friend and
lover.

Promises of
forevermore
knowing it
is only
lore

Great loss,
for without it
how can one
know Great
Love?

Winter’s first
blanket of snow
crisp, clean,
untouched

Friendship, loyalty
bravery and
hard won
freedom

Last and most
important,
faith in Christ.
Gives me certainty
in my
Eternity.

If you were to list the things that made your life worth the living, what would it have on it? Take a moment to ponder at the things that first made you wonder. Of course, I could have listed a thousand or more things that God has blessed me with but then what would that leave left?
